The straight scoop from
Colonel Mustard

Dec. 4, 2000

Well, we are off to the Alamo Bowl. I wish that Bill hadn't run off the Cotton Bowl. but that is water under the bridge. Our team has about zero interest in this game, you could tell from the TV interviews Sunday night. We are taking a disinterested team into a game with a motivated and underrated foe. A win here would give us a high national ranking and give us some momentum for next year.

Having said that, I think we should use the game as a chance to play some guys who we are going to count on for next year. Play the young I-backs , see what they can do with the game on the line on the big stage. This game is one of our rare chances to experiment and build for next year. We have a ton of experience returning and a favorable schedule. Let's use this game to build for next year.

We have been ambushed before in bowls when we are coming off disappointing seasons, by up-and-comers. I would hate to see that happen this time.
