1921: New coach Fred Dawson makes plans for an April arrival, in time to oversee spring practices.
1936: The first-team Red squad is held to a 13-0 win in a spring scrimmage.
1941: Call-ups to military duty begin taking a toll on the Huskers' roster.
1951: A long stretch of bad weather hinders the Huskers during spring practices.
1976: Tom Osborne continues to voice his frustration with the backroom bowl selection process, which saw his one-loss Huskers bumped from the top-tier bowls in 1975.

1996: The Huskers open spring practice with hopes of a third consecutive national championship.
2001: Linebacker Randy Stella's future with the Huskers is cast into doubt as he is suspended for spring practice. Also, former Husker Zaven Yaralian joins the Denver Broncos' coaching staff.
2006: Former Husker Scott Frost joins the Kansas State staff as a graduate assistant.
2016: It's seen as a big catch for Nebraska as receiver Keyshawn Johnson Jr. commits to the Huskers.
