«1908: George Washington University extends the contract of coach Fred K. Nielson, a former Nebraska halfback. More about Nielson in this April 2012 post.
1938: Nebraska's Fred Shirey is selected to the college all-star team that will play the NFL champion Redskins at the end of August.
1973: Rich Glover is elected a co-captain of the College All-Stars, who are able to limit the Super Bowl champion Miami Dolphins to 14 points at Soldier Field.
1983: Former Nebraska quarterback Dave Humm returns to the Raiders after two seasons in Buffalo and another in Baltimore.
1993: Rookie Keith Jones scores the Rams' only touchdown in the annual AFC-NFC Hall of Fame game.
1998: Nebraska is picked to win the Big 12 North as Frank Solich gets set for his first season as head coach.
2003: Athletic director Steve Pederson says he's looking for progress, not a particular win total, in for Husker football in 2003.
2008: Pay-per-view telecasts are announced for Nebraska's first three games.
2013: Bo Pelini expresses confidence in his defense even though the 2012 team was on the wrong end of some big scoring totals.
2018: Nebraska and Iowa work with the Big Ten to restore their Black Friday games.
