Huskers dominate the Gophers

Nebraska came up with its best performance of the young season in shutting out Minnesota. The Husker offense rolled to 530 total-offense yards while the defense held the Gophers to 163 yards and 10 first downs.

Wingback Richard Bell earned Big Eight offensive player-of-the-week honors after piling up 225 all-purpose yards, including career receiving highs of five catches and 121 yards.

Gerry Gdowski had a fine night throwing the ball, hitting 10 of 15 for 180 yards and a 34-yard TD to Bell, while Ken Clark rushed for an even 100 yards.
