«1938: Enthusiasm is high after Biff Jones' first season as Nebraska's coach, with season ticket reservations totaling 22,000 in 33,000-seat Memorial Stadium.
1943: Nebraska is not among the "haves" as wartime factors shift talent to some schools and away from others.
1968: A media poll pegs NU for second place in the Big Eight behind Oklahoma.
2003: Bonuses* awarded to members of the Husker coaching staff after a 7-7 season draw ridicule from some quarters.
2008: Quarterback Cody Green* becomes the first high-profile recruit to commit to Nebraska's recruiting class of 2009. Also, an Internet hoax* targeting Oklahoma quarterbacks Sam Bradford and Landry Jones lands a Nebraska fan in hot water.
