Commentary

Stryker

This may not be a mentally tough team yet, but at least it’s not a fragile team.

HuskerMax
Shatel

This is a different Nebraska team this season. We saw it the first three weeks. And again Saturday night.

Omaha World-Herald
Martin

The Oregon game was a test of skill, the Northwestern game was a test of mental toughness.

Dixon

Really, Saturday night’s 24-13 win over Northwestern was a game the 2015 Huskers probably lost.

Daily Nebraskan
Sipple

The Huskers fell short of their best play and still won comfortably. There’s a lot to be said for that.

Nebraska’s linebacker play still remains a concern for me. They just haven’t played with a physical presence.

We all assumed the new coaches would have to recruit their first all-Big Ten quarterback. Turns out he might be standing right in front of ’em.

Omaha World-Herald
Vogel

The real change from 2015 to 2016 is that Nebraska’s errors ... haven’t been mortal wounds. Just something to overcome and good teams overcome them.

Hail Varsity
Rosenthal

They maintained poise. They remained calm. They did what they’d set out to do on this business trip.

Padilla

Rather than finding a way to lose, the Huskers found a way to win on a day when they weren’t firing on all cylinders.

Hail Varsity
Heady

Again and again Nebraska is lulling teams to sleep with runs, and catching teams off guard with deep, beautiful throws.
