![]() With the Huskers favored over Kansas by three touchdowns, the only suspense in the newspapers’ final game previews seemed to be who would start at quarterback for Nebraska. Nothing was official, but the consensus was that Van Brownson would get the nod in Lawrence after closing out the win over Missouri the previous week. Despite the ample point spread, the speedy Jayhawks were sporting a 4-1 record and appeared much improved over the previous year’s 1-9 team, which lost in controversial fashion in Lincoln. It was speculated that memories of that outcome would provide extra inspiration for Kansas.
