Big Red Cobcast Preview #237: Offseason Hate Week

Iowa sucks

A lot of things about Friday sucked. There were plenty of positives, but the unfortunate truth is that losing to Iowa trumped all of that in the moment. It was a punch to the stomach, the nose and the testicles all at once.

But there was something even worse than that: the clear-eyed realization that this thing is truly headed in the right direction, but we’ll have to wait 40 weeks to see it come to fruition.

The only people denying that Nebraska is a sleeping giant about to angrily wake up and start breaking stuff in a fit of rage are the fans of Big Ten schools and Colorado. It’s the only thing they have left after watching the way this giant ship turned on a dime at midseason. But until then, we’ll have to endure the social media barbs at the hands of Iowa fans, Colorado fans and Mark (the one Northwestern fan who exists).

It’s going to be a long, long offseason. But only because we can’t wait to see the results on the other end.
