I have been working on the collection for the past 30 years. Most of the collection contains unique and authentic pieces of NU history - stadium seats, game used footballs (oldest - 1954 season), game worn uniforms (helmets, game jerseys, bowl jerseys, practice jerseys, black shirts, pants, shoes, sideline caps) from each decade from the 2000's going back to the 1930's. Most items are signed by the players, including jerseys, pants, cereal boxes and the framed schedule posters from the championship seasons. There are displayed hand-signed team balls (oldest is the 1968 squad, the 1978 team that beat #1 OU, the Scoring Exposion teams of the early 80's and others through the decades). I have many more signed photos and magazine covers than wall space, so I chose to frame and display the Sports Illustrated magazines with NU on the cover.
Among items displayed in the cases are more game jerseys (including an authentic 1962 jersey and what's left of a 1970s tear-away), 2002 NU Rose Bowl/National Champions caps (unique since we didn't win that 6th title that night) and pieces of Memorial Stadium's past (artificial turf from each playing surface going back to 1970, a section of goal post, and even a stone piece off the old Schulte Field House entrance).
