GOAL LINE UNCROSSED Nebraska Defeats Northwestern by Score of 12 to 0Nebraska Makes Complaint. Lincoln, Neb., Nov. 28.The football season of 1902 at the University of Nebraska was terminated yesterday in a blaze of glory. The unbeaten Cornhuskers administered a decisive defeat to the Northwestern university eleven, scoring 12 points and emerging from the contest with their own goal lines still uncrossed. Booth, the Nebraska coach, and his pupils charge that Hall, the umpire, ex-, captain of Illinois university, was grossly unfair. Eleven times the Cornhuskers were penalized, seven of which were for holding the punishment each time being the loss of the ball. Most of the penalties came after Nebraska had carried the ball far into their opponent's territory and the surrender of the oval absolutely precluded any possibility of piling up a score on the Methodists. A summary of the gains scored by both teams shows that Nebraska advanced the ball 336 yards as opposed to 124 . for Northwestern. Twice the Methodists held Nebraska for downs and compelled a punt, while the Cornhuskers' defense was of sufficient virility either to capture the ball on downs or force .Baird to punt on seven different occasions. Hollister, Northwestern's coach, in dis-cussing the game, said, "Northwestern was in good physical condition, all things considered, and the men came nearer playing to the. limit of their capability than at any. time during the year. I believe we would have scored in the first half with a minute or two longer to play." Booth, Nebraska's coach, said: "Nebraska did not play her game to-day, but Northwestern put up such a surprising front that a big score was out of the question." The line-up: Nebraska. Position.
