Monday Morning Quarterback: How are you feeling about the Husker recruiting class?
The Huskers signed 23 scholarship players during the early national signing period. Nine of the 23 signees are at front-seven positions, including 6’2″, 270 lb. Pheldarius Payne, a defensive lineman out of Virginia.
A lot of effort looks like it paid off on getting defensive secondary talent in the house, including top recruit Jaiden Francois, a 6’1″, 182 lb. corner out of Florida. In fact, Florida, long a hotbed for football talent, was a big part of the recruiting class, with seven of the 21 signees coming from the Sunshine State.
Another area of emphasis was the at wide receiver position with top recruits including Alante Brown, a speedster out of Chicago, Marcus Fleming from Florida, and 6’3″, 215 lb. Omar Manning out of Texas
This 2020 class is being recognized as a top-20 recruiting class. This is the second top-20 class in a row for Coach Frost and crew. Building the pipeline is unbelievably important for turning around the ship. How are you feeling about the Huskers’ recruiting results this year?
