Lincoln, Neb. — The No. 11 Nebraska volleyball team (16-4, 9-2) swept the Illinois Fighting Illini 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-12) on Wednesday evening at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The Huskers produced a dominant blocking effort on the night, posting 16 total blocks, the most in a three set match this season.

Cecilia Hall led the Husker block against the Illini, recording a career-high of 11. The last Husker to record 10 or more blocks in a match was Brooke Delano (10) at Oklahoma on Sept. 29, 2010.

Offensively, the Huskers were led by Kelsey Robinson as she had a match-high 15 kills on 36 swings for a .389 hitting clip. Kadie Rolfzen recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs. Amber Rolfzen posted six kills, while Hall and Pollmiller both chipped in five kills. Pollmiller also handed out 31 assists on the night, while Justine Wong-Orantes posted a team-high 12 digs.

Nebraska out-blocked the Illini 16-6.5 and out-dug Illinois 43-40. The Huskers hit at a clip of .318 on the evening and held Illinois to a .143 hitting percentage.

Nebraska took a 5-1 lead in the first set on a kill by Robinson, but Illinois posted a 5-0 run to tie the set at 9-9 and force Nebraska to call a timeout. A kill from Hall made it 16-11, Huskers, but Illinois came back to cut NU's lead to 19-18. The Huskers went up 22-18 on a double-block from Hall and Pollmiller and NU went on to win the first set 25-21.

Kadie Rolfzen tallied seven kills in the first set, while Robinson had four. Pollmiller dished out 10 assists, while the Huskers hit .333 as a team. Illinois hit .273 and was out-blocked 4-3 by NU.

Robinson put the Huskers ahead 6-4 in the second set, while a double-block from Hall and Kadie Rolfzen made it 12-10, NU. Illinois took a 15-14 lead and later went up 19-17, while a gutsy dump shot from Pollmiller tied the set at 19-19. Illinois took a 23-21 lead, but the Huskers showed great poise down the stretch as a kill and block from Robinson guided the Huskers to a 26-24 second-set win.

The Huskers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2 as they host the Northwestern Wildcats at 7:30 p.m., at the Devaney Center.

Robinson tallied five kills in the set while Pollmiller handed out 10 assists. Nebraska hit .159 for the set as Illinois hit .114. Nebraska out-blocked the Illini 6-2.5.

Three consecutive kills from Robinson and a kill from Hall put the Huskers up 5-1 in the third set, while a kill from Keil made it 10-3, NU, and forced Illinois to call its last timeout of the set. A 4-0 run from the Huskers made it 20-8, NU, as Nebraska closed out the set with four straight points to win 25-12.

Robinson notched six kills in the final set, while Kadie Rolfzen had four. Pollmiller recorded 11 assists as Nebraska hit .515 for the set and Illinois was held to a .054 hitting clip.
