News/Talk 1400 AM and 94.5 FM
Sync Nebraska Football Broadcasts

After another successful year in 2011, Lincoln’s KLIN Radio, 1400 AM and 94.5 FM, is expanding the Radio Sync Broadcast for the 2012 Nebraska football season. Now that KLIN has both an AM and FM signal, it can accommodate both fans at home and in the stadium.

On 1400 AM, KLIN will synchronize its play-by-play broadcasts featuring Husker Sports Network announcers Greg Sharpe, Matt Davison and Lane Grindle with the television picture for each game, giving Husker fans a chance to choose their announcers all season long. On 94.5 FM, KLIN will continue its traditional as-it-happens broadcast so fans at Memorial Stadium can hear live play-by-play.

“We’ve received great feedback from listeners the past two seasons with our Radio Sync Broadcasts for Husker road games,” said KLIN Program Director Kevin Thomas. “But our new 94.5 FM signal gives us the opportunity to keep our broadcast live for fans at home games, and at the same time expand our Radio Sync Broadcasts to every game of the season on 1400 AM.”

Because there are a variety of television providers and formats, delays can vary from carrier to carrier. As a result, KLIN will be syncing their audio with the digital cable feed from Time Warner to capture the largest possible audience.

“I think Husker fans appreciate the chance to listen to the hometown announcers while watching the game,” Thomas added. “We’re glad to now make that possible for both home and road games, while keeping the broadcast live for fans at Memorial Stadium.” Fans with comments or questions about KLIN’s Radio Sync Broadcasts can contact Kevin Thomas at [email protected].
