University of Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos announced today a restructuring of the Department’s senior leadership team after the completion of a two-month review of the organization.  The naming of the Senior Staff is the first step in a Blueprint for Success that will be created with input from all members of the Husker Athletic staff and will be implemented to improve communications, efficiency and performance.

Six key administrators will serve on Moos’ Senior Staff: Deputy Athletic Director Bob Burton will serve as Chief of Staff; Deputy Athletic Director John Jentz will continue in his role as Chief Financial Officer; Deputy Athletic Director Pat Logsdon continues as the Department’s Senior Woman Administrator; Executive Associate Athletic Director Marc Boehm will oversee all External Operations; Executive Associate Athletic Director Dennis Leblanc will continue to lead Academics; and Executive Associate Athletic Director Jamie Vaughn will oversee Compliance.

“After spending two months listening, observing and learning with an incredibly passionate and dedicated staff, it became clear to me that we needed to restructure our team to best serve the needs of our student-athletes,” Moos said.  “This new core senior leadership team will enhance communication, efficiency and performance, which will benefit our students and our legion of supporters.  I want to thank Bob, John and Pat for their wise counsel and time as part of the organizational focus group, and I am confident that our streamlined structure will produce immediate benefits.”

The new Senior Staff has more than 120 years of combined experience serving Husker Athletics and an additional 60 years in college athletics outside of Nebraska.

Burton joined the Department in 1998, and most recently served as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Capital Planning.  As Deputy Athletic Director, Burton will serve as Moos’ Chief of Staff, and will provide oversight of facilities and maintenance, capital planning and construction, event management, guest services, equipment, computing services, concessions and oversee the Department’s expansive partnership with adidas. Burton will also be the day-to-day liaison for football, and Coach Scott Frost will report directly to Moos.

Jentz joined Nebraska Athletics as Senior Associate Athletic Director and Chief Financial Officer in 2014 and as Deputy Athletic Director will continue to oversee all financial planning, the business office, business enterprises, human resources and department travel.

Logsdon has served Nebraska since 1979 in a variety of roles.  As Deputy Athletic Director, Logsdon will continue to serve as the Department’s Senior Woman Administrator to the NCAA and Big Ten Conference, serve on the Big Ten Sports Management Committee, as well as oversee all Department gender equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives, life skills, sports psychology, strength and conditioning, training table and nutrition, Nebraska Athletic Performance Lab (NAPL) and analytics.

Boehm has been with Nebraska for 15 years and most recently oversaw all development areas.  As Executive Associate Athletic Director, Boehm has oversight of all External Operations including development, ticketing, N Club, marketing, communications, creative and emerging media, HuskerVision, licensing and branding, spirit squads and community, government and charitable relations.

Leblanc is in his 35th year with Nebraska Athletics and as Executive Associate Athletic Director, will continue to oversee all academic areas.

Vaughn joined the Department in 2012 to oversee all compliance areas and will continue in that role as Executive Associate Athletic Director.
