Monday Morning Quarterback: Do you see the Huskers getting six wins and a bowl in 2020?
Halfway through the 2019 schedule, the Huskers were at 4-2 with a should coulda woulda 5-1 without the fourth-quarter collapse at Colorado. They were looking well positioned to get at least two more wins for six wins, a .500 season and their first bowl since 2016.
There was no joy in Lincoln, as the Huskers went 1-5 over the second half of the schedule to put the kibosh on bowl hopes.
2020 looks challenging as heck. Only one real slam dunk with Rutgers; three teams that aren’t patsies (Purdue, Illinois and Northwestern); and three games with solid non-Power Five teams (Central Michigan, South Dakota State and Cincinnati). Then a brutal last five games, all against very tough Big Ten teams.
