Monday Morning Quarterback: Do the Huskers bounce back this week with a big and decisive win at home?
While it didn’t appear it would be the case at the start of the season, it’s a very big game for the Huskers coming up this weekend in Lincoln. Coming off the bye, Coach Frost and team are at one of those inflection points that could completely change the trajectory of the second half the season.
Won’t be easy, that is for sure – with Maurice Washington out and Adrian Martinez and Wan’Dale Robinson both questionable for the game. Indiana is a program on the rise after investing big bucks for a historically basketball-focused school. They are no powerhouse – not by a long shot. While Indiana is 5-2, 3 of those wins came against non-Power 5 teams, and two were over lower-rung Big Ten teams.
It feels like the Huskers are due to thump somebody, especially at Memorial in front of the faithful. A decisive win by a motivated team putting it all out there on the field could drive a huge change in the season arc. Just like the win last year against Minnesota started off the great second half of the year.
Any type of W would for sure be welcome, as the Huskers work to get to the six games needed for a bowl invite. A decisive win would get the Husker’s mojo working toward a few more wins and playing tough against Wisconsin and Iowa at home.
