USCLarry Frost. Five carries for 44 yards. 36-yard run set up TD that got NU back in game, 14-7.Jerry Murtaugh. Led NU defense with 16 tackles.
A&MAl Larson. Led defense with nine tackles, one interception and one pass deflection.Jim McFarland. Made seven catches for 117 yards. Caught 15 and 19 yarders in clinching TD drive. Also made a great 42 yard diving catch.
Minn.Jerry Tagge. Started first game and had 301 yards total offense for new NU record. Sixth in Big 8 history to pass 300 mark. Hit 15 of 23 passes for 219 yards; ran for 82; tossed TD bombs of 38 and 42 yards; hit 5 of 6 for 81 yards on game-breaking 99-yard TD drive.*Ken Geddes. Made 14 tackles and three times made key third down stops to force punts.
MizzouJeff Kinney. Caught eight passes for 124 yards (best in Big 8 to date), including one 77-yarder for TD. Also rushed for 30 yards.Dave Walline. Led defense with 16 tackles.
KUJeff Kinney. Carried 24 times for 80 yards and caught nine passes for 94 yards. Scored two TDs, including game-winning plunge in final minutes.Ken Geddes. Made 12 tackles, including two for nine-yard losses.
OSUDan Schneiss. Outstanding job of blocking. Carried for 47 yards and caught three passes for 26 yards.Guy Ingles. Sensational day, with five receptions for 163 yards and one TD for NU record.Caught great 47-yarder to shake Huskers loose; scored on a 47-yarder that featured a great run.*
Colo.Dana Stephenson. Set Nebraska record with three pass interceptions, all leading to scores.Ken Geddes. Key man in holding Bob Anderson to 42 yards. Guarded middle alone, releasing others for outside coverage. Made nine tackles and recovered a fumble.*
ISUJerry Tagge. Came off bench to hit eight straight passes in relief of Van Brownson. Led NU to 10 points in third quarter. Hit 9 of 12 for 93 yards and one TD, ran for 10 yards.Sherwin Jarmon. Made nine tackles including six behind the line for losses of 46 yards. Fine defensive end show.
KSUDan Schneiss. Ran for 92 yards and caught three passes for 44. Punted seven times for 49.1 average. Set up go-ahead TD in final quarter with 34-yard run and 12-yard catch.*Bob Liggett. Made nine tackles, including one 9-yard loss for Lynn Dickey. Played key role in pass rush that kept pressure on Dickey.
Okla.Jeff Kinney. Carried 35 times for 127 yards; caught three passes for 26 yards, scored three TDs; passed for one TD.Glenn Patterson. Ace Husker center did a great blocking job, both in opening holes for running game and in pass protection.
