Back-to-back passes gave the Huskers an 11-point lead in the second quarter. First, McCathorn Clayton’s scramble and Von Sheppard’s diving catch converted a third-and-8 from the Nebraska 46. Then Clayton hit Robb Schnitzler for a 38-yard touchdown.
Marc Munford interception
OSU had scored 14 consecutive points and trailed by just 20-17 when Marc Munford made this momentum-killing interception early in the fourth quarter. It gave Nebraska a first-and-goal, and Tom Rathman scored three plays later to give the Huskers a 10-point lead.
