Series notes: Nebraska played its first-ever Big Ten Conference game at Camp Randall Stadium against Wisconsin on Oct. 1, 2011. Nebraska and Wisconsin have played for the Freedom Trophy since since 2014. The Badgers have won four of five games as Big Ten foes. Wisconsin won the first meeting between the two teams, 18-0, on Nov. 2, 1901. The Huskers reeled off three straight wins in 1965, 1966 and 1973 by a combined margin of 88-19. Current Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez was a linebacker on the 1965 and ’66 Nebraska teams. (Notes courtesy of Huskers.com)
