Commentary

Muessel

Nebraska has a systemic issue in execution and fundamentals, and breakdowns in those areas have transformed from gimmicks and hiccups to predictable trends.

Look closely at what you just saw, Nebraska. Your next coach was the guy standing on the other sideline.

Nebraska knew what was coming but they still couldn’t stop it.

Nebraska had its shot - 205 seconds to go 75 yards. And on that drive, Abdullah ... touched the ball once.

Hail Varsity
Johnson

Minnesota made Nebraska’s offense look like amateur hour.

Shatel

I’d say it’s embarrassing that Nebraska football is now getting schooled by the same style that it mastered all those years. But you can’t really be embarrassed anymore, can you?

Somebody in Lincoln needs to decide what they want the program to be.

Bottom line, Eichorst must gauge the temperature of the fan base and guard against discernible apathy and, worse, acceptance.

When Pelini was hired in December 2007, he talked about playing hard-nosed football and winning championships. Well, it’s 2014, and neither is happening.

HuskerMax

This is the new normal at Nebraska, and even the coach won’t argue.

The Blackshirts are lost and Pelini’s vision is fading further and further away, as distant as Chimney Rock. It’s someone else’s turn.

Omaha World-Herald
Hamar

The loss Saturday wasn’t due to a lack of effort. It was due to a lack of execution. That’s nothing new for this team.

Pernell

It is finally time to move on from head coach Bo Pelini.
