Huskers pull away from Utes in second half

Nebraska broke open another close game with a quick second-half start and went on to top a determined Utah team, 42-30.

Behind the passing of quarterback Scott Mitchell, the Utes pressed the Huskers at intermission, 21-16, but NU scored touchdowns on its first three possessions of the second half to break the game open. The Huskers drove 85 and 69 yards to score, then a Tyrone Byrd interception set up an 18-yard drive that gave them a 42-16 lead with 10:48 left.

Utah scored twice in the final four minutes to make the final score more respectable.
