James Palmer Jr. led the Huskers with a game-high 28 points, and Nebraska made 11 3-pointers and shot nearly 58 percent on the way to a 98-84 victory over Iowa on Saturday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Isaac Copeland scored 23 points for the second-consecutive game and added 11 rebounds to post his second double-double of the season. Isaiah Roby scored a career-high 17 points, while Jordy Tshimanga rounded out four Huskers in double figures with a season-high 11 tallies.

Nebraska (16-8, 7-4 Big Ten) finished the game 11-19 from behind the arc, including four 3-pointers from Copeland and three from Palmer. NU also hit 30-52 from the floor in its best offensive output since conference play began.

Iowa falls to 11-12 on the season and 2-8 in Big Ten play.

Nebraska’s 98 points were its most since scoring 104 points in a 104-94 win over UTSA earlier this season on Dec. 20, 2017. The Husker output on Saturday was its most in a conference game since scoring 99 points in a 99-82 win over Kansas State on Feb. 9, 2002.

After the Huskers took a 46-34 lead into the locker room at halftime, NU was slow to start the second half as Iowa went on a 20-8 run to start the half to cut the Nebraska lead to 56-54. Palmer led an 11-0 run with back-to-back threes, while Roby knocked in a triple of his own to give the Huskers a 67-54 advantage and the Big Red never looked back as Iowa would not cut the lead to single digits for the rest of the game.

Nebraska took its largest lead of the game just before the final buzzer on a slam by Roby with just over a minute left to give the Huskers a 17-point lead at 98-81.

In the opening half, Iowa held an early lead as the Huskers started slowly out of the gates. NU trailed 10-5 before embarking on a 14-4 run, sparked by 10 points from Copeland, as NU took a 19-14 lead.

The Hawkeyes kept the action close midway through the first half, as NU led 28-26 before going on another 14-4 run capped by a steal from Glynn Watson Jr. and a layup by Palmer that forced an Iowa timeout at 42-30.

An Evan Taylor 3-pointer gave NU its largest lead of the half at 14 points at 46-32, before the Huskers took a 48-34 lead into the locker room at halftime. Copeland led Nebraska in the first half with 15 points and seven boards, while Palmer added 10 in the opening stanza.

Jordan Bohannon and Tyler Cook led the Hawkeyes with 24 points a piece. Cook also added 10 boards for the visitors. After getting outrebounded in its previous five games, Nebraska dominated the boards on Saturday, holding a 37-28 advantage. Though the Huskers gave up 50 percent from the floor to the Hawkeyes, Iowa got to the line just 14 times, while NU was solid with a 27-36 clip from the charity stripe.

Nebraska will return to action on Monday to complete a string of four games in eight days, when the Huskers travel to Wisconsin to face the Badgers.
