Huskers overcome elements, Wildcats

Nebraska jumped to a 17-0 first-quarter lead, then battled the elements through the second period as an early snowfall dumped a little over an inch on Memorial Stadium’s artificial turf.

The field was cleared at halftime and the Huskers went on to post a 38-0 win over Kansas State.

The NU defense yielded just 106 total offense yards and seven first downs. I-back Keith Jones enjoyed the sledding to the tune of 109 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Rod Smith punt return
Rod Smith returns a punt 60 yards in the first quarter.
