Huskers pound Buffaloes with strong 2nd half

New coach Eddie Crowder’s fired-up Colorado Buffaloes gave 37,000 homecoming fans an early scare, but the Cornhuskers overpowered the Buffs, 41-6.

A 13-yard Bill Symons-to-Ben Howe pass gave CU a brief lead early in the game, but Nebraska came back to lead 7-6 at the quarter and win handily with a pair of TDs in each of the final two quarters.

It was win No. 5 of the season and No. 3 in Big 8 play.
