Lee Leads Huskers to Comeback Win: Tanner Lee threw a 13-yard touchdown strike to Stanley Morgan Jr. with 14 seconds left to bring Nebraska all the way back from a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit to earn a 25-24 victory over Purdue.

The throw capped a big night for Lee, who completed 32-of-50 passes for 431 yards and a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns. He did not throw an interception, and Nebraska played turnover-free football.

Morgan was one of two Husker receivers to reach the 100-mark on the night. He hauled in six receptions for 112 yards including his game-winning score, while tight end Tyler Hoppes added five receptions for 105 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown catch with 11:03 left in the game that pulled the Huskers within 24-19.

Commentary

Shatel

You wanted this team to show fight? It did. You wanted the Huskers to show they cared? They did.

Many think this is one game Mike Riley had to have. He got it. Barely. But he got it.

The Nebraska defense tackled poorly much of the night, but came up with critical stops in the fourth quarter. Yeah, those dogs still have some bite.

Riley wasn’t going to be fired after the game, but it’s hard to imagine he could have survived another loss at Purdue.

You get what you emphasize, which is why the 4-4 Huskers have a decent two-minute offense but an ineffective offensive line.

You aren't going to see a quarterback play much better than what Tanner Lee gave Nebraska on Saturday night considering the circumstances.

Pulling this game out of the fire didn’t change what the Huskers have been. Can it change what they will be in November?

Nebraska needs to tighten up those fundamentals it spent so much time working on during the bye week.

Although things have happened fast in Brohm’s first season, the Boilermakers are still learning. Part of that process is winning close games.
