Middle guard Ed Periard returned to practice Tuesday after a groin injury kept him out of Monday’s session.
Even though the Huskers were three-touchdown favorites against Oklahoma State, coach Bob Devaney cautioned that Nebraska’s games against the Cowboys always seemed to be tough and close. With an extra week to prepare, OSU might have a few extra tricks up their sleeves, Devaney said.
In the weekly polls released Tuesday, Nebraska rose to fourth in the AP top 20 and remained at that position in the coaches’ poll. Mississippi’s 30-14 loss to Southern Miss created the room for the Huskers to rise in the AP tally.
