1923 Memorial Stadium groundbreaking

Ground is broken for Memorial Stadium, the new home for Nebraska football, on April 26, 1923. Chancellor Samuel Avery is at the reins of a horse-drawn plow to perform the ceremonial start of the project, which in less than six months would be far enough along for the stadium to begin hosting games.
