Lincoln, Neb. — Natalie Romeo tied Nebraska's three-point record for the second time in two weeks, knocking down eight threes to finish with 30 points and shooting the Huskers to a 75-62 women's basketball win over Wisconsin on Wednesday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Nebraska notched its sixth straight Big Ten win to improve to 15-5 overall and 6-3 in the conference, while Wisconsin slipped to 6-13 and 2-7 with its fifth straight loss.

Romeo was sensational. The 5-7 shooting guard from Martinez, Calif., hit six threes in the first half to shoot the Big Red to a 19-point lead early in the second quarter. She finished 8-of-14 from beyond the arc, matching the school record she set with eight threes at Penn State on Jan. 13. She went 11-of-20 overall from the field against Wisconsin to record her third 30-point performance of the season. She added a career-high-tying six rebounds, while contributing two assists and two steals.

"Natalie was terrific tonight, and not just on the offensive end," Nebraska Coach Connie Yori said. "She chased Wisconsin's guards all over the place for 40 minutes and not only forced steals, she also got a number of hustle rebounds for us, which were huge."

Romeo wasn't the only Husker who enjoyed a career night. Junior center Allie Havers posted her second career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, while adding an assist, two blocks and a steal. Her first double-double came earlier this season with 14 points and 12 boards in a win over Evansville.

Natalie Romeo tied her own Nebraska record with eight three-pointers in Wednesday's win over Wisconsin.

Senior Rachel Theriot returned to the court from injury after missing Sunday's win at Michigan. The 6-0 point guard pumped in 14 points and dished out five assists to climb to No. 3 on Nebraska's career assist list with 570. She also added a team-high three steals.

The strong efforts from Romeo, Havers and Theriot allowed Nebraska to overcome a slow offensive night from freshman Jessica Shepard. The 6-4 forward was held to eight points on just 4-of-14 shooting, but she grabbed seven rebounds and dished out a career-high six assists. She also had a pair of blocks.

Kyndal Clark contributed six points, including Nebraska's first three-pointer of the game, while adding five rebounds and two assists. She also played solid perimeter defense.

Jasmine Cincore and Anya Kalenta also contributed off the bench, as Nebraska finished with 44.3 percent (27-61) shooting from the field, including a sizzling 9-of-16 (.563) from three-point range. The Huskers outscored Wisconsin by 24 points from beyond the arc, as the Badgers hit just 1-of-9 threes.

Nebraska also outscored Wisconsin 12-1 at the free throw line, as the Badgers hit just 1-of-7 free throws, while the Huskers knocked down 12-of-15 for the game.

The Big Red outrebounded the Badgers, 41-32, on the night, while Wisconsin won the turnover battle, 15-14.

Wisconsin lost despite hitting 30-of-65 shots (.462) for the game, as Nicole Bauman produced a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Michala Johnson added 21 points.

Romeo and Theriot shot the Huskers to a quick double-digit lead in the first five minutes. After Wisconsin jumped to a 4-3 lead, Nebraska got Shepard's only field goal of the quarter, before Theriot hit three straight floaters and Romeo knocked down her first three to cap an 11-0 run to take a 14-4 lead just 4:34 into the game.

Romeo added eight of Nebraska's last 10 points in the final 2:31 of the quarter to send the Huskers to the second quarter with a 26-10 lead.

Romeo stayed red hot in the second quarter, knocking down three more threes to finish the half with 22 points and six three-pointers to help the Huskers take a 46-31 lead into the halftime locker room. Romeo was 8-for-14 from the floor and 6-of-9 from three-point range, while adding a season-high five rebounds to go along with one steal.

As a team, the Huskers hit 18-of-35 shots from the floor, including 7-of-11 threes in the first half. The Big Red also hit 3-of-4 free throws, all from Havers, who finished with five points and nine rebounds in the half. With Havers and Romeo leading the way, the Huskers outrebounded the Badgers, 23-15, in the first half. Both teams committed six first-half turnovers.

Wisconsin hit 42.9 percent (15-35) of its first-half shots, including 10-of-17 in the second quarter. Michala Johnson scored 15 of Wisconsin's 21 second-quarter points while hitting 7-of-9 field goal attempts in the quarter. Tessa Cichy added eight first-half points, including six of UW's 10 in the first quarter. She finished the game with 10 points.

Nebraska took its biggest lead of the half at 33-14, before Johnson helped the Badgers trim the margin briefly to nine points at 38-29. But Romeo answered with back-to-back threes and Shepard added the final points of the half to push the halftime margin back to 15 points.

In the second half, the Badgers clawed their way to 55-48 with 4:03 left in the third quarter, before Romeo scored five straight points, including her school-record-tying eighth three with 1:49 left in the quarter to send NU to the fourth period with a 60-48 lead. Wisconsin got no closer than eight in the fourth quarter, as Havers gave the Huskers a 75-60 edge with 35 seconds left by hitting her final two free throws of the night.
