We started
off a little slow, but I thought we did some really good things tonight,
NU Coach John Cook said. We had 11 aces and we served very well.
We had some people come off the bench and do some great things. They
are such a critical component to our team, and it really excites everyone
to see them do well.
Logan Pierce posted
a team-best eight kills for Oklahoma, which fell to 2-28 overall and
1-16 in the conference.
Leading 20-15 in
the first game, the Huskers began to pull away as Jenny Kropp put on

in a 8-1 Nebraska run that gave NU a 28-16 lead. After a Husker service
error, Metcalf, who hit .857 in game one, pounded her sixth kill of
the match to force a game-point situation. Junior defensive specialist
Lindsay Wischmeier wrapped up the 30-17, first-game win with a service
ace.
In game two, Nebraska
used a 7-0 run highlighted by two service aces from Sibbernsen to take
a 17-9 advantage. Oklahoma bounced back, capitalizing on four NU hitting
errors to tie it at 20. Schrad broke the tie with a kill, then added
two more as Wischmeier reeled off eight straight from behind the service
line to up the lead to 29-20. OUs Candice Woods held the Huskers
off with a kill, but Amber Holmquist answered with a kill for Nebraska
to give NU the 30-21, second-game win.
The Huskers ran
away with game three. Nebraska led 19-9 before scoring five straight
with Pilakowski at the line. The Columbus, Neb., native notched three
service aces in the run. The Huskers secured the 30-15, third-game win
and the match when Cepero returned an Oklahoma overpass.
The Huskers return
to action with back-to-back matches at home this weekend. Nebraska will
