Lasik Surgery with Dr. Kugler
On Wednesday, November 2, 2011 I had lasik surgery on my right eye by Dr. Lance
Kugler in Omaha. The actual procedure took less than five minutes and after
it was over I was able to read my wrist watch and a newspaper without glasses
for the first time in 15 plus years. Most people my age (60) don't consider
themselves to be canditates for lasik or other surgical procedures to correct
their eyesight but after consulting with Dr. Kugler I made the decision to get
rid of my bifocals forever. I was completely dependent on them for reading anything.
Since the surgery I can now see 20/20 for reading and do not need glasses for
distance either. Like most lasik patients I wish I would have done it sooner.
Below are some pictures from the procedure.

My only job was to lie still and look at the green light.
It was easy to do after 10 mg of Valium to be relaxed through the whole procedure.

is described here.
That laser is actually reshaping my eye so that I can see up
close.
This whole pain free process was less than 30 seconds.

The entire procedure was done in less than five minutes and
I walked out without any glasses.

Follow up visit the next day with 20/20 vision. All my eye glasses
will be donated to the Lions
Club.
