Broderick Thomas
Official recap
Nebraska overcame a first-quarter scare from Oregon and rolled to a 48-14 win over the Ducks. Sophomore tight end Todd Millikan caught two touchdown passes, and sophomore defensive end Broderick Thomas scored when he picked up a teammate's fumble following an interception.

There were two disappointments for NU, when Wingback Von Sheppard broke a fibula, and when place-kicker Dale Klein's consecutive PAT string ended at 60, eight short of the school record.
