 Official recap More | Hide
It was one of those days when a team has trouble hanging on to the football as Nebraska fumbled seven times, losing five, but still defeated Kansas State, 21-12. The Huskers once again were without Jarvis Redwine, who before the game was the Big 8's leading rusher. NU co-captain Lawrence Cole was a one-man team as he led the Blackshirts in stopping the Kansas State offense. Cornerback Ric Lindquist also had an outstanding game as he tied the NU interceptions in a game record with 3. Filling in for Redwine, Craig Johnson finished the game with 102 yards and reserve quarterback Jeff Quinn was 6 for 10 passing for 58 yards. It was the Huskers' ninth victory in a row.
