Falcons take to the air to stun Cornhuskers

A fired-up Air Force team, led by scampering Terry Isaacson, hung the only 1963 defeat on the Nebraska Cornhuskers before a sell-out Band Day throng at Memorial Stadium, 17-13.

The clincher came with only 2:41 left in the game, a 38-yard pass-run TD from Isaacson to end Fritz Greenlee to cap an 80-yard drive.

Nebraska scored twice in the third period, the first time on a brilliantly executed 76-yard dash by fullback Rudy Johnson, after trailing at the intermission, 7-0.

A pass interception dashed all hopes of a last-ditch comeback — the Falcons had knocked Top 10 Nebraska from the unbeaten ranks.

H’MAX NOTES: Nebraska’s final touchdown was set up by a 44-yard run by Kent McCloughan.
