Glen "Satch" Garson

July 11, 2005

Glen "Satch" Garson succumbed to his battle with colon cancer on July 10th, 2005. Glen was a letter winner in 1971 and 1972 and was the back up wing back to Johnny Rodgers. He was a teacher at Savanna High School in Orange County, California and originally from Fullerton, CA.

If you would like to send a message of condolences to his family please send it to this email address and I will compile them and pass them on to his family. This thread was started on the BBS on July 9th.

A memorial service was held on Friday, July 15th at the Jamboree Worship Center in Irvine, CA. It was well attended by friends and family and several people got up to speak about their reflections of Glen. For one part of the service red candles were passed out to everyone in honor of Nebraska and one of Satch's friends told a great Tom Osborne/St. Peter at the Pearly Gates story.

There will also be a pot luck picnic get together at Mile Square Park (16801 Euclid, Section 15) in Fountain Valley, CA at 2 PM on Saturday, July 23rd. There is a parking lot with 75 spaces and parking is $5 per car and car pooling is recommended. There is no alcohol allowed in the park.
