The two teams were knotted until the top of the fourth, when OSU cashed in four runs on five singles off NU starter Aaron Bummer. The Beavers added three more runs in the top of the fourth, before the Huskers answered with run in the bottom of the frame when Steven Reveles scored on a single by Kelly after leading off the inning with a double.

The Huskers were within striking distance heading to the eighth down 8-2, but the Beavers plated seven runs on just two hits, as the Husker pitching staff gave up seven walks in the inning.

Nebraska kept fighting and scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth, all with two outs.

The Huskers play their second game of the today at 4 p.m. (CT) against Gonzaga, before wrapping up their opening weekend with another game against the Zags tomorrow, when the two squads meet at 1 p.m. (CT).
